My husband has recently started with wood working. He made his first project which was a chair made out pallets. He simply cut up pallets and put it back together, then stained the project. I think it is amazing!
This is a project that took some heavy tools to do and I could never do it! It is a great DIY project for someone just starting out with woodworking. I can't wait to see what he makes next!
He is getting great at woodworking and has now made some amazing pallet wine racks. Check them out on my blog at this link!
This is all about my fun things I am trying out that I find on Pinterest and more!

Ranch Snack Oyster Crackers
The second I saw this recipe I knew I had to try it. When you put ranch flavor on anything, I am going to love it. Tonight we made these Ranch Snack Oyster Crackers. They were simple enough to make that the girls were able to help me. Here are the ingredients we used:
You will need a package of Ranch dressing, garlic powder, 1/4 cup of Canola oil (or another oil will work), salt (not pictured), and oyster crackers. First you mix all of the ingredients except the crackers in a bowl. Then stir in the crackers and coat them. Pour them onto a large cookie sheet and bake at 250 degrees. Cook for 15 minutes total and stir it about every 5 minutes. These are amazing! My kids and husband loved them. If you don't eat them all, put the rest in a airtight container.

Billiards Themed Cupcakes
A friend of mine got a new pool table and they made some adorable cupcakes to go on it for a fun night. I just had to share these pictures. They are simple to do. You just make cupcakes and then do the decorating with icing. I love how they came out! If I ever have a billiards party, I will be using this idea.

Chicken Crescent Rolls
I found this great recipe for Chicken Crescent Rolls on Pinterest. We tried it last night, but I didn't get any pictures taken. I just want to share the pin with you all so you don't miss this one. I would probably try garlic flavored crescent rolls next time for a bit more flavor.

Yogurt Dots
Today I was on Pinterest and I saw something I had to try! I am always looking for healthy snacks that taste great. I found this post for Frozen Yogurt Dots and had to try it!
First I took two small cartons of yogurt and put them in a small Ziplock bag. I used strawberry banana because it is what I had at home.
Then I took the ziplock bag and cut the corner so that I could use it to make dots on my wax paper.
Then I simply squeezed out little dots on the wax paper. When you are done, put them in the freezer for about an hour.
They turned out great! These were tasty and they are the perfect healthy snack instead of ice cream. You can simply keep them in the freezer and grab a few at a time.

Love Bug Headbands
The kids were bored today so my 8 year old got on Sprout Online herself to try and find craft ideas. She found these Love Bug Boppers and made them all by herself! She used a headband, pipe cleaners, and cut hearts. I thought they turned out pretty cute. Here are the instructions on Sprout Online.

Teriyaki Chicken Freezer Meal
Yesterday I made Teriyaki Chicken in the crock pot. My friend Alycia shared this recipe with me and it turned out great! This recipe is pretty easy and also makes a great freezer meal.
You need 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, 1 can of pineapple (any kind), and 1 cup of Teriyaki sauce.
You put the chicken in the crock pot then next pour the sauce over it. Next put the pineapple over it including the juice. I used pineapple that was simple to take out because I knew we would not eat it, but if you want the pineapple for more than just flavor you could try crushed.
I also made a freezer meal out of this one. I did another one with the exact same items dumped into a Ziplock freezer bag. It is ready to just thaw out and throw in the crock pot on another day.
This chicken turned out really good! I made some brown rice to put it over for a healthy dinner. My daughter said I should try mashed potatoes next time which would be good too! This one is one anyone can make and it is also frugal.

Cheerio Treats with Peanut Butter
Today I made Cheerio treats with Peanut Butter. They were great! As you can tell from the picture, I used a generic brand that I had at home already and they tasted just as good. I got this recipe from Kathie Cooks. You will need the following items:
• 1 c. sugar
• 1 c. corn syrup
• 1 c. creamy peanut butter
• 1 t. vanilla
• 5 c. Cheerios
First you cook the sugar and corn syrup together in a large pan. When it comes to a boil, you let it cook 1 more minute. I kept stirring it most of the time.
When it is done, take it off the burner and add in the vanilla and peanut butter. Stir it well. The recipe calls for 5 cups of cheerios, but I just poured them in and stirred until well coated adding more as needed.
These turned out great! They are really sticky but they taste great. You could also make them in a pan and cut out squares. Another idea is to try different kinds of cereal instead of the Cheerios. Enjoy!

Homemade Maraca
Tracy of Cruising with Coupons in North Central Oklahoma made some homemade maracas for her daycare last week and I wanted to share them with you. Here is how she did it:
I used an empty ketchup bottle, some Discount School Supply Bio-Color paint, and Mod Podge to make a maraca. I taped the lid on with blue duct tape. I'm not sure if plain tempera paint would work, but acrylic paint would. I painted it, let the paint dry, then covered it with Mod Podge to seal it. After it dried, I put some rice inside (you could use anything: beans, pennies, etc.), put the lid on, and taped it shut.
This looks like a lot of fun for the kids! Here is a picture of the homemade maraca.

Church Project from the Girls
This project was not a Pinterest one, but actually one my oldest daughter learned at school. I gave the girls straws, pipe cleaners, and scissors and they made something. They came up with a church and it even has a cross on it. I thought it was cute so I wanted to share!

Glow in the Dark Mountain Dew is a Hoax!
Recently a pin was going around on Pinterest about glow in the dark Mountain Dew. It sounded really simple so the kids and I tried it. It was simply baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and mountain dew. Maybe I am crazy because I fell for it. I watched an online video and assumed that it would work. This is a hoax! After trying it, I went online to several places and found where it is a hoax and they used a glow stick to make it glow.
It is on Snopes too!

Edible Cookie Dough
Okay last night I had to try this recipe for edible cookie dough. It was amazing! Darn you Pinterest you are bad for my waist line! I found this recipe on Bakers Fun Foods.
Here are the ingredients:
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup milk
1 cup flour
Pinch salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Do you notice that it doesn't call for any eggs? Yes we all have to admit we have ate cookie dough with raw eggs, but you aren't supposed to do it.
Simply mix the brown sugar and butter, then add in the vanilla and milk stir again, then add in the rest of the ingredients and stir it up. Put it in the fridge to get cool for about 20 minutes and enjoy! It was amazing!!!

Magnetic Makeup Organizer
Here is another fun project that my friend did she found on Pinterest. It is a cookie sheet and she put simple magnets on the back of her makeup. It is now hanging on the wall to organize all of her makeup. You could also just use this lying on your cabinet and then hide it away if you were having guests over. Great idea!

Smores Snack from the Oven
When I saw this snack, I knew I had to try it out! I have a weakness for anything chocolate to be honest. My 8 year old daughter helped me to make these Smores snacks because they were so simple.
All that you need to make them is a package of crescent rolls, chocolate chips, and marshmallows.
You put a few marshmallows and a few chocolate chips in each crescent roll and wrap the crescent roll around them. We made ours look like little biscuits.
You then put these in the oven for about 8-9 minutes at 375 degrees. They come out golden brown on the top and gooey in the middle! It is the perfect combination.

January Gingerbread House
Gingerbread houses are so much fun to make that I couldn't resist a few weeks ago when I found one on sale for 50 cents! Today the kids sat down to make it and had a blast. Yes it was too hard to eat, but that didn't stop them from having fun decorating it! This was 50 cents well spent!

Crockpot Chicken & Stuffing
Last night for dinner we had Crockpot Chicken & Stuffing. I got the recipe from Cruising with Coupons in North Central Oklahoma.
Ingredients: Water, Chicken, Box of Stuffing, and Cream of Chicken Soup
This is really simple. Make sure you spray the crock pot with cooking spray before you put your chicken into it. I skipped this step and really wish I hadn't.
Put the boneless chicken in the bottom of the crock pot, pour the stuffing over it. Do not make it or anything just put it on over it. Mix 1/2 cup of water with a can of cream of chicken soup and pour it over it. I cooked it for 2 hours on high and then 2 hours on low and it was perfect!
This was really yummy and worth making! It was so easy and we all enjoyed it.

Our Pinterest Sensory Magnet Bottle
Last night the kids and I made some really cool magnet sensory bottles that I found on Pinterest. They are fun! You simply tie a magnet to the side and fill it with cut up pipe cleaners. Then you can use the magnet to play with them on the side. The kids love them!
All that you need to do is cut up pipe cleaners and put them inside the clean bottle. Tie on a magnet and use it to move them around. It is a lot of fun!
